eBay Page Format Changed 1/25/2005

Update (09:00 1/26/2005), the flux of changes on ebay is still going on but we have applied the new patch that is now working. We expect everything is returning to normal again. Though we will be on the lookout for any changes in the next 12 hours.

We are sorry for any losing bids. This change is unexpected and we have been working hard to find a fix to this problem. Thank you for your understanding.

Update (5:30 1/26/2005), there have been a flux of changes to the page format. Some bids are getting through but some are not. Please use extreme caution in the next 12 hours. It seems that the earlier patch did not give a good performance. We are working to find a new patch to correct it.

Update (19:10), a temporary workaround and patch has been applied to the snipe process and, in the mean time, we temporary increase your leading time to compensate with the patch.

Starting around 17:00, eBay has changed its page format and may cause some users to get the "Snipe Error" Message. Bids may not be placed on ebay. We are working to correct the issue and will post any update soon.

Intermittent eBay Connection Problem

Intermittent eBay Connection Problem

There has been a brief intermittent connection problem to eBay through out the day on Jan 24th. During the time, many connections from our multiple networks to eBay were lost /or delayed and caused some users to receive "Snipe Error" and "Auction Ended" message.

Please use caution when placing your snipes today eventhough eBay stated on its announcement board that the issue has been resolved.

Network Connection Problem on Jan 21st, 2005

From 12:05 - 12:54, our bid servers experienced connectivity issue with the backbone network system. The upstream providers and the network engineers had been notified and worked to correct the problem. The problem was caused by the corrupted network router. We could re-route some of the bids to another network but some could not. Although we have recieved a confirmation from our network provider that the issue has been resolved, we are still keeping an eye on this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.
