eBay Server Problems
Starting from 10 PM (Central Time) July 30, 2014; eBay has been experiencing problems with its website. The response page from eBay stated that it was timing out. The issue occurs sporadically throughout the night and still occurs sparingly.
eBay has not yet announced the issue on the website. But there are reports from others at

Network Problem on the Database Server
(2:45 January 24, 2014) Update. Engineers found problem and fix the underlying hardware. All customers should now be able to access your account without any issue.
Some customers may see Error #8 with some of the snipes during the downtime. Please note that your snipe had been sent to eBay by a separate server. But due to the issue at the main database server, it could not update with the new correct information.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
During the downtime, all pending snipes had been executed.

Problems on eBay
4:30 a.m. Aug 23, 2013. eBay seems to be coming back online again. We are seeing most of the snipes are being accepted on eBay. Though, please use caution during this time.

Currently eBay is experiencing some issue with their system including the sign in page. Our system may not be able to sign in and place bid.
Some users may receive error message "INVALID1" - eBay id/password is invalid in your status. This is due to our system is unable to sign in to your account.

Problem when schedule new snipe and modify snipe
Between 9:30 - 12:30 (Pacific) of Sunday 26, May 2013, we experience some technical issue with one of the servers that caused problems when trying to schedule a new snipe or modify exiting snipes during this time frame. Any snipes scheduled during the time would result in Error #8.
Any snipes that had been set before the affected time were executed without any issue. The problems only occurs to those newly scheduled.
The issue has now been fixed. You should now be able to schedule a snipe without any issue.
