What is the chrome extension or Firefox addon JustSnipe Button?

The JustSnipe Button is an auction sniper browser extension available for Chrome and Firefox that streamlines the bidding process for eBay auctions through JustSnipe.com. When installed, the extension adds a button to your browser toolbar, which can be clicked on to place bids on eBay auctions without having to manually enter the auction number.

When you find an item you wish to bid on, simply click the JustSnipe button, and a new tab will open where you can enter your desired bid amount. JustSnipe will then automatically place the bid for you at the last possible moment, increasing your chances of winning the auction at the lowest possible price. Snipe Group Introduction

JustSnipe offers an advanced feature called "Snipe Group" that allows you to bid on multiple auctions and automatically cancel remaining auctions when the desired condition is met. This feature can save time and increase your chances of winning the desired item.

Example of Snipe Group Usage:

Suppose you want to purchase a pair of Nike shoes, but there are five identical listings for these shoes. You can use the Snipe Group feature on JustSnipe to schedule snipes for all five auctions and set the winning condition to one item. Our system will start sniping the first auction, and if you don't win it, the second item in the list will be activated. This process continues until the winning condition is met. Once the condition is satisfied, any remaining snipe orders will be canceled automatically. 

 

Limitations of Snipe Group:

Although Snipe Group has been tested and works well in our testing environment, it is still in beta phase and may require some tweaking. Please use this feature with caution and let us know if you find any bugs or have suggestions for improvements. 

• Snipe Group does not work with private auction listings or Dutch-format auctions. While you can add these auctions to the list, our system will not be able to determine the winner.
  
  
• The end time of each auction in a single group should be at least 60 seconds apart. While you can add auctions with end times closer than 60 seconds, please note that there may be no warning.
  
  
• The maximum number of snipe items in one single group is 30 items.
  
  
• Snipe orders can only be assigned to a group when it is first created. Any snipes scheduled earlier but not assigned to a group cannot be moved to a snipe group and must be deleted and re-created.

Network Problems on Multiple Servers

 On March 19, 2021, JustSnipe experienced intermittent network problems on multiple servers in our network. The issue occurred between 01:00 - 02:00 and again between 17:00 - 17:30 (Pacific).

eBay Security Token

 
TLDR
You need to re-link your JustSnipe and eBay account in order to place bid because the security code is expired. Read further for instruction.

JustSnipe has switched to eBay security token (instead of eBay id/password) for a few years. The new eBay security token helps us to place your snipe bid and better maintain the security of your JustSnipe/eBay account.

When you first sign-up an account with us, there is a process in the back-end that allows us to use this security token. The token has its life span depending on eBay configuration but most of them would last a few months to a few years. 

Every now and then when the eBay security token is about to expire, you would receive a warning message on your JustSnipe account and it may prevent you from placing bid.

To renew or re-authenticate the token, you will need to follow the instruction below. 

 
1. Visit "Manage eBay Account" page.

Browser Extension Error -50003 ReferenceError

 Some users may receive error message when clicking on JustSnipe browser extension (add-on).

"Error -50003 ReferenceError: listvalue_debug is not defined" 

This is a known bug in version 1.8.7 for users related to Snipe Group. The issue has now been fixed in version 1.8.8.
However it may take about a week for Google to review the code and approve the new release (version 1.8.8). 

 

Workaround: 

We have 2 workarounds for this issue.

#1 Create an empty Snipe Group. 

1.1 Open a new tab and visit this page

1.2 Enter group name in "Group Name" input box.
Any name will do.

1.3 Click "SAVE" button.

** You do not need to use or add item in this Snipe Group.
It is just a workaround to get rid of the error message. **

Issue with Database Server

Starting from 3:45 am - 7:00 am of January 2, 2020 (Pacific Standard Time), there was an issue with the Database Server.

Snipes that ended between those times failed to execute. Members would receive a snipe "Error #8" message.

The issue has now been resolved and everything is in working order. However, we are keeping an eye on the Database Server and will report if any issues occur again.

Issue with Network Timeout Error Message

Earlier, some members may experience error message "Network Timeout" in their account. We have been trying to figure out the cause of this issue. However, it was deemed impossible to fix the problem because we cannot reproduce from our end.

With recent finding, we were able to reproduce the issue from our end and we found that it was from Kaspersky programs (The Antivirus and Internet Security System).

The Kaspersky program is injecting JavaScript code into JustSnipe page. Often times, the Kaspersky  coding has a bug and it causes error that stop rendering JustSnipe page which is causing the network timeout issue.

How to fix Network Timeout for Google Chrome

There are 2 methods to fix the Network Timeout issue for Google Chrome. Please try method 1 and if method 1 does not resolve the issue, then please scroll down and try method 2. 


Method 1: 


1. Click the 3 vertical dots to the top right of the internet browser.

2. Click More tools.

3. Click Extensions.

4. Enable Kaspersky Protection by clicking the "Toggle switch". When Kaspersky Protection is enabled the "Toggle switch" will turn blue as seen in the picture below:

Method 2:


1. Open Kaspersky Internet Security.

2. Click the "Settings" icon.

3. Click "Additional" in the left menu.

4. Click "Network".

5. In the "Traffic processing" section, uncheck the box that says
"Inject script into web traffic to interact with webpages" by clicking
on it.

6. When another window box appears, click on "Continue" button.

7. Click the "x" on the top right to close Kaspersky Internet Security.

8. Open Google Chrome.

9. Click the 3 vertical dots to the top right of the internet browser.

10. Click "More tools".

11. Click "Clear browsing data...".

9. Click the box to check mark "Cookies and other site date" and
"Cached images and files".

10. Click "Clear data" button.

How to fix Network Timeout for Firefox

Here are the instructions to fix the network timeout for Firefox:


1. Click the 3 horizontal lines to the top right of the internet browser.

2. Click Add-ons.
